Ricky Martin The Greatest Hits 2011

It's easy for us Brits to label Ricky Martin as a naff, one-man cruise show - especially when he names his new greatest hits album after the amount of years he's been in the biz: the apparently lucky number 17. That said, with worldwide album sales of 55 million and a string of Grammys to his name, the retrospective serves as a timely reminder that there's a helluva lot more to the Puerto Rican star than a decent set of hips.

Cherry-picking - you guessed it - 17 of his 27 Spanglish hits since breaking the UK in 1995, it's surprising how well many of his songs of the now largely defunct latino pop genre have stood up over time. Of course, 'Livin' la Vida Loca' remains a staple of pop culture, but the steamy ballad 'Private Emotion', Christina Aguilera-assisted 'Nobody Wants to be Lonely' and rock-infused 'Loaded' are as appealing today as they were over a decade ago.

While the lion's share of the patchwork-quilted LP is an exercise in positive nostalgia, Martin's career hasn't been without its misfires. 'Shake Your Bon-Bon' is as novelty as it was in '99, 'She Bangs' in hindsight sounds all the more contrived after his not-so-surprising coming out last year, and how 'She's All I Ever Had' managed to peak at number two in the US is anyone's guess. Nonetheless, if his recent duet 'The Best Thing About Me Is You' with Joss Stone is anything to go by, there's plenty more shake 'n' twist in those infamous hips yet.

Justin Bieber never say never - remixes 2011

justin bieber never say never the remixes 2011
Justin Bieber's Never Say Never - The Remixes Due Valentine's Day
Rascal Flatts, Chris Brown are among special guests featured on seven-track CD.

Justin Bieber knows how to make his legion of Beliebers swoon on Valentine's Day. Come February 14, the pop megastar will release Never Say Never - The Remixes, the musical counterpart to "Never Say Never," his feature-film debut. As teased a few weeks ago, the limited-edition CD will feature a brand-new track and remixed tunes with features from Rascal Flatts, Chris Brown and more.

The seven-track CD, which includes a 12-panel official movie-poster foldout, begins with his Jaden Smith-assisted "Never Say Never." In addition to the film's trailer theme song, the project also features remixed collaborations with Rascal Flatts ("That Should Be Me") and Brown ("Up") and a live duet with Miley Cyrus ("Overboard"). The disc also includes the new Diane Warren-penned track "Born to Be Somebody." Fans can begin to pre-order the limited-edition CD for $9.99 on the Biebster's official online store.

The cover art for Bieber's remix project is the same photo featured on the 16-year-old's first movie poster for "Never Say Never," which he unveiled via a Twitter puzzle in October. In a dark varsity jacket, Bieber offers a side profile in front of a white backdrop. The 3-D movie hits theaters nationwide on February 11.

The singer's manager, Scooter Braun, hinted about some star-studded collaborations during a recent online fan chat. "Yes, Justin is working on new music," he said. "He's been talking to Drake about new music. [Bieber] and Kanye had a call today about a song they're trying to work on together. Kanye wants to produce a bunch of new songs for the new album. He's talked with Rascal Flatts. Him and Chris Brown have been sending stuff back and forth to each other."

The Never Say Never - The Remixes track list, according to Bieber's official website:

1. "Never Say Never" (featuring Jaden Smith)
2. "That Should Be Me" (remix featuring Rascal Flatts)
3. "Somebody to Love" (remix featuring Usher)
4. "Up" (remix featuring Chris Brown)
5. "Overboard" (live featuring Miley Cyrus)
6. "Runaway Love" (Kanye West remix, featuring Raekwon)
7. "Born to Be Somebody"

Colbie Caillat - All Of You

TRT Reviews: Colbie Caillat’s All Of You

Colbie Caillat has always been the female version of Jack Johnson to me. She’s a singer-songwriter who is capable of churning out an endless stream of care-free, beach ready tunes all while emoting such a sunny disposition that it’s impossible to root against her. That’s still the case with her third album, All Of You (July 12), as she remains true to her California-girl sound, but finds a way to add some flair while playing with tempo.
Lead single, “I Do,” hit #1 on the singles chart and easily became the official wedding song of the year while follow up single “Brighter Than The Sun” is starting to make waves with lively guitar strums against a backdrop of spirited handclaps and percussion. As expected, it’s the perfect summer time song to blast while laying on beach soaking up the sun.
The one song I was most eager to hear was “Favorite Song,” which features a guest rap from Common that doesn’t disappoint. Rhythmically, “Favorite Song” is one of the more up-tempo songs that appear on the album and the metaphor for wanting to be the object of someone’s affection can’t be more straight forward. Needless to say, she looks prophetic long after the song ends as she will be “stuck in your head like I knew you would.” Only downside – when Common forgets the “L” in Colbie’s name making it sound like COBIE — not once, but twice.
The album’s title track, “All Of You,” Caillat finds the gentle balance of coveting her beau even as doubt creeps into her mind as she wonders if he’s willing to give… wait for it… all of himself. While “All Of You” is not nearly the call to arms that we’ve come to expect from Caillat’s current mainstream peers in Christina Perri or even Kelly Clarkson, it’s nice to see that even ever-confident California girls express self-doubt from time to time.
On All Of You, Caillat sticks to what’s been working best for her – bright, sunny pop tracks that hone in on feelings easily accessible to all. As the old adage goes – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. All Of You hits stores and digital retailers tomorrow, July 12th.
Standout tracks: “Brighter Than The Sun,” “Favorite Song,” “All of You.”

Patrick Wolf – Lupercalia

TRT Reviews: Patrick Wolf – Lupercalia

My first thought on listening to Patrick Wolf’s new album, Lupercalia, is that Wolf has gone back to the same well he drew from for 2007′s buoyant single “The Magic Position.” To be fair, the first single from Lupercalia, “The City,” recalls those carefree verses like Rosemary Brown channeling Franz Liszt, complete with saxophone and trickling piano interludes.
The second single, “House,” maintains the upbeat, lovelorn beat, surrendering gently to “Bermondsey Street,” whose hopeless romanticism almost puts “The Magic Position” to shame. In fact, one listener on Rdio postured that Wolf must have recorded the album in Disneyland.
The observation is fair, to a point. Where The Bachelor was dark, twisting and upset, Lupercalia is light, smooth and (mostly) content. The blocks of synthesizer that buffeted many of the former’s best tracks have been traded for harps and horns.
However, if you listen to the two albums together, back to back, the continuation of theme is fairly apparent. Take “Who Will,” from The Bachelor, and pair it with “The House,” from Lupercalia. Is the question answered? If the former was the descent into the storm, then Lupercalia is Wolf’s slow, but steady, climb back into the sunshine. (With the strong exception of “The City,” which is firmly rooted in beach sand.)
In the end, Lupercalia is certainly more upbeat, but far from an abandonment of theme. If anything, the album speaks to the strength of Patrick Wolf’s catalogue as a complete set.
Favorite Track: “Time of My Life” (no contest, though “Armistice” came close)

Kelly Rowland Album - Here I Am

Album Review: Kelly Rowland Here I Am

After a few false starts, Kelly Rowland will (finally!) release her third solo album, Here I Am (July 26th), which features a mix of sensual R&B cuts like “Work It Man” and “Feelin’ Me Right Now” and pulsating dance-floor hits in “Commander” and “Turn It Up.” With a star-studded roster of producers ranging from Darkchild to StarGate to Tricky Stewart, it’s obvious Universal Music is looking for Here I Am to put Ms. Rowland on the map as a legitimate solo artist.
The album already boasts one bona fide hit in “Motivation,” the breathy slow jam featuring Lil Wayne spent upwards of 18 weeks on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart, including seven non-consecutive weeks at number one. Not a bad way to kick-off an album release. So, let’s dig in, shall we?
The album opens with the bombastic “I’m Dat Chick,” produced by Tricky Stewart, which sets the stage by positioning Ms. Rowland as the assertive, confident woman that is more than ready to step into the solo spotlight. Second cut on the album, “Work It Man” featuring Lil Playy, has dark-horse potential. Yes, potential. It could be a solid hit in the waiting as it opens with a strong piano riff before kicking into a more mid-tempo jam. The only downside to “Work It Man” is that unlike the albums obvious standouts, it only reaches a simmering point rather than full on boil.
Putting “Motivation” aside given its chart success already, album standouts have to be the Rodney “DarkChild” Jerkins produced “Turn It Up” and “Feeling Me Right Now,” which allow Ms. Rowland to play with tempos effectively with synth-heavy beats and layered vocals.
Speaking of playing with tempos, by far my favorite song to appear on Here I Am has to be the David Guetta/Rico Love dance-floor anthem in “Commander.” This is no secret, for months I’ve been championing this song, which has such crossover potential for Ms. Rowland and help re-capture some of that more general pop music crowd that embraced Destiny’s Child in the late 90’s and early ‘00s.
My only gripe about the album overall is Universal is clearly limiting Ms. Rowland’s potential by only marketing her as a urban/R&B artist rather than pursing a more R&B/Pop audience. I’d love to hear at least another one or two tracks in the same spirit as “Commander,” which currently seems quite out of place on Here I Am. The song proves that she’s capable of broader commercial appeal –- if the forces that be will just let her truly have her shining moment. Ms. Rowland is ready and very capable to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, and even Katy Perry.
Must-Hear Tracks: “Commandeer,” “Motivation” ft. Lil Wayne, “I’m Dat Chick,” and “Turn It Up.”

Kelly Clarkson - Breaking Your Own Heart

Kelly Clarkson - Breaking Your Own Heart Lyrics

Shaking your head like it's all wrong
Before you're here you're already gone
And even with the light all around you
You're all alone in the dark

You're breaking your own heart
Taking it too far down the lonely road
You say it's just one love
But when it's close enough you just let it go
The very thing you've been the most afraid of
You've been doing it from the start, breaking your own heart

Too many tears, too many falls
It's easy to hear behind these walls
But you don't have to walk in the shadows
Life is so hard

You're breaking your own heart
Taking it too far down the lonely road
You say it's just one love
But when it's close enough you just let it go
The very thing you've been the most afraid of
You've been doing it from the start, breaking your own heart

You're breaking your own heart
You're breaking your own heart

It's not too late, I'm still right here
If only you let go of your fears

You're breaking your heart
Taking your own heart down the lonely road
You say it's just one love
But when it's close enough you just let it go
The very thing you've been the most afraid of
You've been doing it from the start, breaking your own heart

You're breaking your own heart

Mandy Moore - Only Hope MP3

Mandy Moore - Only Hope lyrics

There's a song that's inside of my soul.
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold.
But you sing to me over and over and over again.

So, I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope.

Sing to me the song of the stars.
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again.
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I know now, you're my only hope.

I give you my destiny.
I'm giving you all of me.
I want your symphony, singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs, I'm giving it back.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours
I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my only hope.

Dil Dhadakne Do - Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2011 mp3 song

Hey Yeah Chalo Na..
Dhondhe Seher Naya
Jahan Muskurahtein hai Bikhri
Jahan Se Gum ka Mausam Gaya
Jahan Beeti Baatein Har Ajnabi se ho

Bhulein Hum bhi jo sari Fikrein
Lamha Lamha Khushiyan Bikhrein

Idhar udhar aur yahan wahan
Jayein wohi dil kahein jahan

Baby baby baby…

Kab tak phire hum dhadkane
Dil jaise Dhadake Dhadakane Do
LyricsMasti.com
Kyun Hai Koi Aag Dabi
Shola koi bhadake bhadakane Do

Hey Yeah Chalo Na..
Gaaye naye naye Geet
Khel Aisa Kyun na Koi Khelen
Jis Mein sab ki ho jeet

In Dinon Bhoolon taarein
Koi bhi dekhta Nahi
Dekhen unko deewane hoke koi
Kitna bhi humko toke
Khuli Hawa ho Khula sama
Jage hue ho sare armaaan

Baby baby baby…

Kab tak phire hum dhadkane
Dil jaise Dhadake Dhadakane Do
LyricsMasti.com
Kyun Hai Koi Aag Dabi
Shola koi bhadake bhadakane Do

Hum Se dil ne kahi jo baatein
AAO Maan le
Jispe chalta Nahi hai Koi
Raah Woh Chalein

Thodi Awaragi ho Thodi
Thodi Madshoiyan ho baby
Hum ho tum ho Baby Tell me

Kab tak phire hum dhadkane
